Story

A note from our founder, Olivia

I have this romanticised Venusian view of jewellery as talismanic, that it should make you feel powerful and radiant. I don't experience this with other brands when I fasten the chains at my neck, so I created my own. When I wear Ziggy Zafiro, I feel armoured and enhanced. Magnetic. It's not jewellery; it's regalia. I really hope that you feel this way when you wear it, too.

A brand strategist by day, I'm ever curious, so I studied the market and noticed this huge issue with jewellery brands selling gold plated goods for really high prices - some, in the hundreds for a simple gold plated chain. I also noticed that they're all the same: beige.

I decided to do something about both.

My mission is to make costume jewellery that makes getting dressed feel like getting dressed up. I want to make beautiful, unusual pieces that capture attention, ignite curiosity, but remain accessible.

There's something undeniably theatrical about jewellery - it's called costume jewellery for a reason. When I adorn myself with the pieces I create it's a process of becoming. Reinvention. Every necklace layered is another medal for authenticity, for showing up as myself and celebrating that. Getting blinged up makes me feel like the life and soul, whoever I want to be. The name that embodies this dazzling energy of creative expression is Ziggy. Offbeat, colourful, rare. Zafiro, translating in Spanish to 'sapphire,' nods to my heritage - the orange exports of Valencia.

I hope you feel like life is a party when you wear Ziggy, that you are the disco ball.

This is bling for the curious.

Happy dazzling.
